Pre-Launch Creative Brief
The olive oil that proves what's inside.
Everything worth knowing to shoot, edit and post KALTA on-brand — the story, the look, the people we're talking to, and the content we're building toward launch. Direction and inspiration, not a rulebook. Where you see room to make it better, take it.
The brand at a glance
Single-origin, early-harvest, lab-tested. Substance you can check — in a package worth keeping.
KALTA is a high-polyphenol, early-harvest extra-virgin olive oil launching direct-to-consumer in the UAE and GCC — a December 2026 launch, in time for the holidays. The plan: a slow, waitlist-led build through the second half of 2026, then a bigger push around Ramadan & Eid in early 2027, when gifting and hosting peak. Single-origin Spanish Picual, lab-verified polyphenols, two products: KALTA (500 ml, the everyday bottle) and KALTA RESERVE (250 ml, a finishing oil and daily polyphenol dose).
What makes it different
Most olive oil is a story with no receipts. KALTA leads with verifiable substance — polyphenol counts you can check yourself, per batch, via a QR on the tin — delivered in an editorial, design-forward package. Substance and taste.
The category
The UAE shelf is mass supermarket oil plus a thin tier of imported "gourmet" brands with weak proof. KALTA's white space is the corner none of them own: data-backed, genuinely well-designed, and warm in tone.
The one line
Early-harvest, lab-tested, single-origin — made for people who actually read the label. We'd rather show that it's exceptional than say it.
The three wedges
KALTA sits where three worlds overlap. Most brands manage one. The brand is the blend of all three.
Editorial Brand
Brightland · Diaspora Co · Burlap & Barrel.
Considered art direction, restraint, botanical beauty, magazine-quality stills. The feed should feel like a design object you'd want on your shelf.
Health-First Substantiation
Blueprint-adjacent · data-forward.
Numbers, harvest, method — shown cleanly and honestly. This is the proof layer that separates KALTA from every story-only competitor. Facts, told beautifully.
Lifestyle & Accessible Energy
Graza-adjacent, calibrated for the Gulf.
Confident, unfussy, a little audacious about the category — olive oil doesn't have to be precious. Keep the warmth and the wit; skip the loud, frat-y edge. Warm, communal, food-confident.
Any single piece can lean into one wedge. Across the feed, all three should show.
Who we're talking to
Three people, three reasons to care. We meet each one through what they already love.
The Measured Optimizer
Health- and performance-minded. Follows longevity content, takes supplements, trains. Buys the daily polyphenol dose (RESERVE).
Moved by: real numbers, lab method, "the highest-polyphenol oil you can actually buy," a daily ritual.
The Cultured Host
Entertains, gifts, cares how things look on the table and the shelf. Buys KALTA and gift sets.
Moved by: beauty, provenance, giftability, "the oil that impresses people who know food," the season.
The Discerning Collector
A connoisseur. Wants rarity, single origin, the harvest story, named provenance. Buys RESERVE and limited allocations.
Moved by: scarcity, the estate narrative, craft detail, "first-press, early-harvest, one lot."
How it should feel
Editorial, warm, confident, honest, restrained. Accessible without being loud; sure of itself without being clinical.
The one thing
We never sound like we're selling. We talk about how good the oil actually is — and let each person find their own reason to want it.
The number, the harvest, the design, the taste — different people fall for different things. Lead with the product and the truth of it; the want takes care of itself.
Sounds like
- Descriptive on the science — never medicinal.
- Specific: early harvest, cold pressed, single source, 100% Picual, lab-tested.
- Food-confident and generous, like a friend who knows good oil.
Never
- Salesy, discount-y, or shouty.
- Precious, austere or untouchable.
- Claiming "premium" — we show it instead.
Content franchises
The feed runs on repeatable franchises, not one-off posts. Here's where we're starting — build on them freely.
The polyphenol throat-tingle, captured as real taste reactions — the involuntary cough and kick of a high-phenolic oil. Product-native, unfakeable, zero promo feel. No olive-oil brand owns the reaction moment; this is open white space.
Talent: hired testers, chefs, friends-of-brand — other people's honest first reactions.
Punchy Reels · tight cuts · honest reactions
Retro, 1950s VHS-edit nature / farmer / harvest content — grain, archival colour, nostalgic type. A distinctive visual signature no olive-oil brand owns, and a natural home for any harvest footage.
Atmospheric Reels + stills · nostalgic, earthy
The proof layer, made watchable: polyphenol science, label-decoding, myth-busting — delivered through animation, motion graphics, voiceover and hands-only shots. This is what wins the health-minded audience.
Explainer Reels · carousels · motion-graphic stills
The everyday pillar — drizzle, dip, recipes, the daily-dose ritual. Kicks in when real tins land in December and there's product to pour.
Tabletop · hands-only · food-in-motion
These three (plus Use & Ritual at launch) are the starting set — not a fixed list. New franchise ideas are welcome; the best feeds invent as they go.
Visual language
Editorial, botanical and earthy — with chartreuse energy. Magazine, not marketplace.
Colour
Bone and forest do the heavy lifting; chartreuse is the spark; orange and cobalt are the warm and cool accents. The chartreuse-and-orange split is a recurring signature.
Typography
Photography & botanical
- Warm natural daylight; soft shadows; real kitchens and tables, not sterile studio.
- Texture over polish — oil on a spoon, torn bread, a thumbprint on a tin.
- Picual olive sprig recurs: fine-line, naturalist-plate style, fruit more chartreuse-yellow than deep green.
Grade & the preset
- Colour true-to-life — the green-gold of fresh oil, cream, forest. Don't oversaturate; let chartreuse be the pop.
- A warm, gently filmic grade for the everyday feed — the custom Lightroom preset should hold that look across posts.
- Vintage Provenance is the exception: its own retro / VHS treatment, grain and archival colour.
Reference brands
Things to learn from — not react against. Borrow the instinct, not the copy.
Rhythm & calendar
A slow, deliberate build to December, then a bigger push into Ramadan & Eid. High-level on purpose — the shape matters more than the schedule.
The first shoot delivers 12 Reels and 40 stills — enough of a content bank to sustain roughly three posts a week across the pre-launch window, mixing Reels and stills. Treat that as a target to flex, not a quota — some weeks more, some less, as the story calls for it.
Real tins land. Add Use & Ritual; shift toward product, drizzle and holiday gifting. First real conversion read.
Feb–Mar 2027 · Ramadan & Eid pushGo bigger. Gifting, hosting and generosity are the season's language — heavier volume and spend, gift sets front-and-centre.
Good to know
A few practicalities to make the shoot and the edit run clean.
The shoot
One scheduled shoot, up to two locations — think a warm kitchen / table setting and one natural or textural space. This is the content bank the pre-launch feed lives on, so shoot for range and re-use.
Placeholder tins
Final production tins land closer to launch. For now we shoot with printed labels wrapped over blank tins. Favour hands, pours, motion and environment that flatter a placeholder; save hero macro shots of the final tin for later, and shoot so the bank stays usable when the real tin arrives.
Talent & product
A couple of UAE food & health creators are ideal for The Burn reactions and lifestyle moments. Show the oil at its best — the pour, the green-gold colour, the peppery-finish reaction, bread and a spoon.
